Rideshare demand for Sydney & Melbourne
Flights, finish times, rain & roadworks.Read as one board.
DriveWise AI watches what actually moves riders (arrivals, stadium exits, weather and closures) and tells you where to be next. Then it shows what each shift really kept after fuel or charging, wear and GST.
No card to start. Then $14.99 a month, or $99 a year.

Four things move riders.
Surge maps show you where demand already was. These are the causes, read early enough to act on.
- AIRAirports
- What it watchesArrivals at SYD and MEL from the timetable, plus aircraft already on approach from live positions, with seats per aircraft.
- What it means for youA cluster of wide-bodies inside half an hour is a queue of passengers, not a queue of cars. The app tells you when to leave so you reach the rank as it lands.
- EVTEvents
- What it watchesStart times at stadiums, arenas and theatres, and finish times (estimated from the usual length when the listing has none), with crowd sizes from venue capacity. Public holidays and school holidays too.
- What it means for youExits that land close together become one crowd wave, with a countdown. Wait a street or two back: pickups at the gate are slow and fares are short.
- WXWeather
- What it watchesRain measured now, and the forecast for the hours and days ahead, each labelled for what it is.
- What it means for youThe first stretch of rain moves the most riders. Be positioned before it starts, and a phone alert tells you it's coming.
- RDRoads
- What it watchesMeasured road speeds, closures and incidents on the corridors drivers actually use. No guesses when there's no reading.
- What it means for youSkip the zone that is about to jam, even if it looks busy right now. Best moves allow for the drive from where you are.
Ask it anything. It already knows your night.
The AI advisor reads the same board you do, plus your shift and your costs. Type a question or say it out loud, in English or nine other languages. In Car mode it reads the answer back.
- Knows your shiftHow long you've driven, where you are, and what lets out, lands or rains in the next few hours.
- Talks in what you keepEvery suggestion comes as dollars an hour after fuel and your own car costs, not the fare.
- Remembers how you driveSay "no airport runs" or "home by 2am" once. Every answer follows it after that.
- Looks things upWhether a trip is worth taking, the cheapest fuel near you, the best hours this week.
- Tells you when to stopAfter a long stretch it says rest first, before it says where to go.

Airport or stay around here?
Stay near Newtown. The Enmore Theatre lets out at 10:15pm, and trips from there come to about $36 an hour after your car costs. The airport's next wave is 11:40pm, 25 minutes away, at about $29.
You've driven 6 hours: take a 20-minute break before 10pm. You'll still be home by 2am, like you asked.
And the rest of the kit.
All of it in the one subscription, on your phone or a computer.
Deciding where to go
- Best moves from you
- The map ranks zones by how busy they'll be when you get there, from now to three hours ahead.
- Crowd waves
- Stadium, arena and theatre exits that land close together, grouped into one wave with a countdown.
- Airport "leave at"
- When to leave for the rank so you arrive as the wave lands, or a plain "stay put".
- Did it pay?
- What you kept per hour in the hours DriveWise AI called busy, against the ones it called quiet. It is allowed to report that the app did no better.
In the car
- Car mode
- One big next move, a Navigate button for Google Maps or Waze, and spoken heads-ups. Built for the cradle.
- Cheapest fuel nearby
- Live prices near you in Sydney and Melbourne, and what the cheapest saves you on a fill.
- Chargers, if you drive electric
- Nearest public chargers with free bays where they report them, the speed of each one, and roughly how far fifteen minutes adds.
- Phone alerts
- Airport waves, big event finishes and rain on the way, even with the app closed. Quiet hours when you sleep.
Off the road
- Paperwork and car care
- Rego, insurance, your authority and the next service, with reminders before each one is due.
- Bonus check
- Type in a platform promotion and DriveWise AI works out whether the extra hours are worth it, from your own log. It is allowed to say no.
- Monday email
- Last week's pay after costs, your best shift and the GST to set aside.
- Incident log
- A cleaning fee, damage, a rating dispute: write it down with photos while it's fresh, and have a record if the account is ever reviewed.
- Bring your history
- Import past shifts from a CSV file, so the numbers mean something from day one.
The number the apps won't show you.
Platforms show what they paid. DriveWise AI takes off fuel or charging, wear, your fixed costs and GST, and shows what each shift, hour and platform actually left in your pocket. Then it checks a trip before you take it.

Cents per kilometre stops counting at 5,000 km a year. A full-time driver does many times that. With a 12-week logbook you can claim the business share of what the car really costs, and DriveWise AI builds that logbook from the shifts you already log.

- GST from your first tripRideshare drivers need an ABN and GST registration from day one, whatever they earn.
- BAS on timeMonthly or quarterly. DriveWise AI works out the GST from your log and reminds quarterly lodgers before it's due.

What it costs to run
About 31 minutes of driving a month, at the $29 an hour after costs in the worked example above. If it changes one hour of your month, it has paid for itself.
It may also be deductible as a work expense. That one is a question for a registered tax agent.

Questions drivers ask.
Does it work with Uber and DiDi?
Yes. DriveWise AI reads demand across the city, not inside any one app, so it works whichever platforms you drive for. It isn't connected to your platform accounts.
Which cities?
Sydney and Melbourne. Brisbane and Perth aren't supported yet.
Can I ask in my own language?
Yes. The AI advisor answers in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Vietnamese, Hindi, Punjabi, Greek, Nepali or Urdu. Choose one in your profile, or let it answer in the language you ask in. You can type a question or say it out loud, and in Car mode the answer is read back to you. Speaking works in Chrome and Safari, not Firefox, and whether a phone can hear and read every language depends on the phone. Suburbs, app names and tax terms like GST stay in English.
Does the advisor remember what I tell it?
Yes, if it's something lasting. Say "I don't do airport runs" or "I finish by 2am" and it saves it, and every answer follows it from then on, on the dashboard and in Car mode too. You can see, add or delete what it remembers in your profile.
Can I use it while I drive?
Car mode is made for a phone in a cradle: one big next move, a Navigate button for Google Maps or Waze, and heads-ups read out loud. Set it up while you're parked and don't hold the phone while driving.
How fresh is the data?
Aircraft on approach update every minute, weather every 30 minutes and road speeds about every hour. Flight timetables refresh several times a day and event schedules twice a day.
Is this a surge map?
No. Surge maps show where demand already peaked. DriveWise AI looks at the causes (landings, finish times, rain, closures) so you can move before the surge, not after it.
How does it know what I really earn?
Log a shift (or start and end one from the app) with what you were paid and the kilometres. Add your car's running costs once, and DriveWise AI takes off fuel or charging, wear, fixed costs and GST to show what you kept, per hour and per platform.
Is an Uber or DiDi bonus worth chasing?
Often not, and DriveWise AI tells you which ones. Type in the promotion you were offered: the target, what it pays and the deadline. The app counts your progress from your own logged shifts, works out how many extra hours are left in it, and prices those hours at your weakest time of week rather than your average, because the good hours are already taken and a bonus gets filled with the quiet ones. If it works out below what you usually keep per hour, it says so. DriveWise AI isn't connected to your platform account and can't read its promotions, so you enter the one you were shown.
Does it work if I drive an electric car?
Yes, and it changes what you see rather than just the wording. Set your car in your profile and the dashboard shows public chargers near you instead of pump prices, with the speed of each one, how many bays are free where the site reports it, and roughly how far fifteen minutes of charging adds. Every cost figure then says charging rather than fuel, uses your cents per kWh instead of a pump price, and leaves out the GST credit that only applies to fuel. The AI advisor answers "where can I charge near me" with chargers too. Charger tariffs aren't published in any feed we can buy, so the app never guesses a price per kWh: costs come from the rate you set.
What about LPG?
The running-cost maths works, but neither state government publishes LPG prices in the feeds the app reads, so there are no nearby prices to show you. The app says so plainly rather than showing you petrol prices you can't use. Set your cents per litre yourself and every net figure is right.
Is the tax part advice?
No. GST set-aside amounts, the BAS worksheet, the logbook, the income tax estimate and car expense comparisons are estimates to help you keep records. Check with the ATO or a registered tax agent.
Can DriveWise AI help at tax time?
Yes. It builds a 12-week car logbook from the odometer readings on your shifts, keeps your receipts, compares the cents per kilometre and logbook methods, reminds you before each quarterly BAS, and gives your tax agent one year-end file. These are estimates for your records, not tax advice.
Is the DriveWise AI subscription tax deductible?
It may be: an app you use to run your driving can be a work expense. It depends on your situation, so ask a registered tax agent.
What happens after the free week?
Subscribe at $14.99 a month or $99 a year to keep going. If you don't, access ends with the free week. There's no card on file, so nothing is charged.
Can I cancel?
Anytime, from your profile. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
From the notebook.
